Caprese Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
4 ripe tomatoes
1 lb fresh mozzarella cheese
1 bunch fresh basil leaves
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
Sea salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Wash and slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.
Slice the mozzarella cheese into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
Rinse and pat dry the basil leaves.
Assemble the Salad:
On a large serving platter, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella, overlapping them slightly.
Tuck a basil leaf between each slice of tomato and mozzarella.
Dress the Salad:
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad.
If using, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top for a touch of sweetness and tang.
Season:
Sprinkle sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
